I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.” (1Corinthians 2:3) NIV
Paul set out on the great commission to take the gospel of Jesus to the places that God led. “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers”. ..(Psalms 1: 1-3) NIV
“Which yields its fruit in season”…The key to this is the in season part. Fruit does not yield itself all the time. It has to be in season. In order to bear fruit though, the tree or the vine must be taken care of. It must be watered, it must be fertilized and groomed and protected from the elements that will harm it.
If you have ever wandered on the meandering paths around an orchard or spent some time in a sunny vineyard then you will have been able to see first hand how much goes into bearing good fruit.
